Each year, Klipspringer hosts a series of full-team events – welcoming fresh faces to our growing team and connecting with remote staff from near and far.

With October marking a transition into the final part of 2024, it was the ideal time for another of these events to occur.

A full-team gathering also presented us with the perfect opportunity to make the most of our new and improved headquarters.

Inspired by the day’s events, we wanted to provide a brief rundown – sharing our highlights and most valuable takeaways. We also wanted to say a huge thank you to all the team members that came together to make the occasion such a success!

A word from the Klipspringer Directors

The event began with an interactive presentation from our Board of Directors. During this presentation, the directors discussed the key learnings from 2024, identified areas for development, and outlined their vision for the future.

The directors also highlighted the activities and achievements of the different departments operating across the business, before awarding Team Player of the Month to Stephanie Dijon, Klipspringer’s talented and hard-working Finance Manager.

Four Fantastic Workshops

Once the presentation had come to a close, we broke off into smaller groups to partake in four fantastic workshops. Led by team members from a range of different departments, these seminars reinforced Klipspringer’s core values of: Care, Competence, and Focus.

They also encouraged participants to find new ways to strengthen teams, think strategically, build trust, and move forward with purpose.

Workshop One

Workshop One was delivered by Operations Manager, James Sheppard and Operations Assistant, Dean Battiste.

A masterclass in trusting your team, the session opened with a word puzzle that saw participants tracking down products in our Distribution Centre and closed with a trust walk where teams guided a brave volunteer around an obstacle course with their eyes closed. There was also an engaging activity on the importance of effective communication.

Workshop Two

Workshop Two offered an ingenious take on the importance of establishing solid foundations to secure future success. Led by Klipspringer’s HR Manager, Natalie Smith and Executive Assistant, Lauren Foster, this session tasked participants with building two Lego towers. The towers needed to be as tall as possible, but stable enough to be carried across a room. The first tower was made with a Lego set that didn’t include structural blocks, but when it came to the second tower, these essential pieces were shared with the team.

Workshop Three

Led by Food and Beverage Specialists Fraser Carlyon and Ben Grover, Workshop Three was all about Klipspringer’s DNA. In this seminar, we discussed what we do, how we do it, and why we do it.

It was brilliant to see how passionate the Klipspringer Team is about our work within the food production industry, with participants delivering inspirational pitches on our products, services, and company culture. What a great way to get inspired for the end of 2024!

Workshop Four

Workshop Four was led by Managing Director, Murray Carlyon and Key Account Director, Alex Carlyon. Together, Alex and Murray highlighted the importance of focus.

As well as an inspirational presentation with plenty of valuable takeaways, this seminar also featured interactive activities, including a problem-solving task and two games of catch – one where participants were able to focus and one where Alex and Murray did their best to create distractions.

A delicious lunch for the Klipspringer Team

As to be expected from a company working within the food industry, no full-team event is complete without a delicious spread, and the food for our October gathering was an absolute triumph.

A Gourmet Grill Food Truck came directly to Klipspringer HQ, treating our team to barbecued steak, pork shoulder, and hamburgers.

There were also veggie options available, plus condiments, garnish, and plenty of chips!

That brings us to the end of our overview of Klipspringer’s October Full-Team Event.
