Klipspringer’s Real-Time Wireless Monitoring System now has its own Online Portal. Discover the benefits this could deliver to the food production industry.

Here at Klipspringer, we are always striving to enhance the products and services we provide. A prime example of this is our recent development of the My Data Portal.

Used alongside the WatchmanOne Real-Time Wireless Monitoring System, My Data Portal is a platform that allows its users to access information from a site’s base station without being connected to the same network. In short, users can monitor the activities of a site, at any time and from any location.

This function is particularly useful for companies with Wireless Monitoring Systems at multiple sites, as team members who are granted access will be able to obtain all the data they need through one, user-friendly platform.

To help you decide if My Data Portal is the right fit for your operation, the following article will highlight five key benefits of this new solution.

1. User-friendly system

Designed with user experience in mind, My Data Portal displays data in a variety of formats, allowing you to select the approach that works best for you and your site. Examples include a list view, tabular view, and plan view.

Below is an example of a dashboard as it would appear if My Data Portal was being used to monitor multiple sites at once.

The dashboard provides an accessible overview, quickly highlighting the number of open alarms and total alarms across different locations. It also shows the real time status of these alarms and provides a look back at activities over the last 30 days.

In the list of locations, you may notice that only ‘Klipspringer Lab’ was included, with alarms deliberately set off to generate results. In this section, you would typically find a list of all the different sites being monitored, but in this instance, they have been hidden to protect the locations on this particular live account.

2. Increased visibility across multiple sites

Another way to access information through My Data Portal is by creating a virtual site map. This is a quick and easy way for you to monitor the alarms at your location.

Easy access to this information will simplify the process of sensor calibration. It will also assist you in providing reassurance to customers and auditors, as you will be able to clearly demonstrate which aspects of your operation are being monitored and how well each area of your site is performing.

3. Enhanced reporting on alarms

Although it is a useful tool for individual sites, My Data Portal is also a popular choice amongst larger companies that are using Wireless Monitoring Systems across multiple locations.

Above is an example of the ‘My Sites’ tab, a section of My Data Portal that shows the locations being monitored. In this tab, you would typically find a list of the different sites with a system in place, but in this instance, they have been hidden to protect the locations on this particular live account.

4. Detailed reports for easy investigation

My Data Portal allows users to investigate incidents on a granular level – highlighting unreliable equipment and regularly-compromised environments, along with the performance of specific sites and operatives.

Accessible through the portal, these detailed reports act as an invaluable tool for root cause analysis and audit preparations.

Above is an example of a report that has been produced through My Data Portal. It conveys the details of an alarm incident that took place in a kitchen filling room.

As you can see, it highlights where the incident occurred, which sensor was triggered, the duration of the incident, and other vital pieces of information. The report can then be converted to a PDF, ready to share with leadership teams, customers, and auditors.

5. Secure system with in-built protection

My Data Portal uses secure HTTPS connections with the latest encryption ciphers. This ensures any data transmitted between the user’s browser and the base station is protected.

The software is also hardened to enhance security, acting as a reverse connection between the browser and base station.

It is also worth noting that My Data Portal offers a functionality similar to that of a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Put simply, it provides a secure connection to the base station’s system without retaining any of the its private data.

That brings us to the end of our guide to WatchmanOne’s My Data Portal. We hope this introduction has highlighted the ways in which the platform could support your food production site.
