What benefits can you expect from the new Retractable Detectable Markers?

Along with all the expected qualities of a retractable pen, the three new additions to Klipspringer’s range of Detectable Equipment boast a number of enhancements:

Non-toxic ink

As you would expect from markers intended for a food production site, the pens within this range feature non-toxic ink.

Capless retractable design

This prevents the markers from drying out and also complies with the BRCGS expectation that pens should be without small parts.

Food contact approved, shatter-resistant housing

The pens are produced using a trademarked polymer that offers the ultimate levels of detectability and shatter resistance.

Triple detectable housing and pocket clip

If a foreign body incident occurs, the markers and clips can be identified through visual inspections, plus metal and x-ray detection.

The Retractable Permanent Marker

First up is a new style of Retractable Permanent Marker. Ideal for writing on product packaging, containers and dispensers, tuffx identification tags, and more, this pen will help your operatives to ensure the smooth running of your factory.

It will support them in the segregation of ingredients, the quick identification of equipment, the management of rejected product, along with a wide range of other daily duties.

This new style of marker is available with blue, red, green, or black non-toxic ink.

The Retractable Dry-wipe Marker

The next pen to be added to the range is a new style of Retractable Dry-Wipe Marker. This pen is typically used to write temporary markings on non-porous surfaces where information needs to be updated on a frequent basis. For example, white boards, task lists, and production schedules.

These markers are also commonly used to write directly onto non-food items such as containers and dispensers that are used within the food production process.

This new style of marker is available with blue, red, green, or black non-toxic ink.

Is the retractable marker right for me?

With every site facing a different set of challenges, it’s important that you carry out a thorough risk assessment before making your decision.

During this risk assessment, you will need to consider the fact that retractable markers have more components than a conventional marker, some of which are not detectable.

However, these components are contained within a shatter-resistant housing, so many sites view this as a lower food safety risk than a detachable lid.
