What are the benefits of the WatchmanOne system over comparative systems?

• Security – the majority of alternatives use cloud-based operating systems which can produce security risks, whereas WatchmanOne is an LAN system providing confidence in the security of your data.
• No ongoing fees – as standard, WatchmanOne is a one-off cost that provides you with the equipment and platform access. There are optional upgrades for a small annual fee.
• Technical support – ongoing technical support and advice for the WatchmanOne system is provided free-of-charge without the requirement for a service agreement.

Are the sensors calibrated?

The WatchmanOne sensors come with a statement of accuracy, but almost all of our customers request additional UKAS calibration to ensure regulatory compliance, traceability, risk reduction, customer/stakeholder trust, and quality assurance.

How often should the sensor be recalibrated?

We recommend having a UKAS calibration performed on an annual basis to maintain accuracy and compliance. This can be conducted in two ways:

• On-site Calibration – our team will come to site and perform a full system calibration every 12 months.
• Klipspringer Lab – you can send your sensors to our UKAS accredited lab for calibration every 12 months. Turnaround is 2-3 days.

How secure is our data?

The WatchmanOne system is an independent, LAN (Local Area Network) system and all data is backed up automatically to the base station hardware. All of the sensors send data using secure, AES encrypted signals, and all information is stored safely in line with GDPR rules. Access is protected by passwords, and you can control what each user is allowed to see or do.

What happens during a power outage?

The base station is battery backed, so it will continue to operate during a power loss.*

The transmitters are battery powered and will store readings locally during outages and automatically upload them when the connection is restored to eliminate data gaps.

How long does installation take?

Most single‑site systems are installed and operational within a day. Larger or multi‑site projects may take longer, but our engineers work to minimise disruption.

What are the ongoing costs?

There are no ongoing licence fees for the base station system.

Optional costs include: MyDataPortal subscriptions, SMS/Texts, Call & App push notifications, annual re-calibration, extended warranties, or additional sensors as your needs grow.

What types of sensors are available?

• Temperature – sensors available for monitoring air, product, and surface temperatures in both ambient and extreme conditions.
• Humidity – sensors available for monitoring humidity to ensure optimal and consistent product quality
• Specialist-input – linear input – sensors available for pressure, light, CO₂, and other parameters; pulse counting sensors for energy, liquid, or gas flow; and digital input sensors for plant status, door monitoring, or flood detection.

Is the system scalable?

Yes, the system is flexible and scalable up to 150 sensors per base station – it’s designed to reflect the growing and changing needs of the business. You can add sensors to the system across all parameters.

Can WatchmanOne integrate with existing software or BMS?

Yes. All base stations have API and Modbus connectivity capabilities; these allow external developers to integrate our systems with many third‑party systems.

How do alarm notifications work?

When a reading goes out of range for longer than allowed, the system sends instant alerts via email from the base station. On MDP you can receive alarm notifications via email, SMS, call, or push notification, here you can set escalation rules so multiple team members are notified if the issue isn’t resolved.

What is the lifespan of the sensors and transmitters?

Most sensors and transmitters will last 5-10 years with proper care and calibration. Batteries are user-replaceable to extend service lifespan.

What warranty and support is available?

All systems have a 12-month warranty as standard, but this is extendable via a service agreement. Klipspringers technical support team will be available for ongoing technical help and advice.

What training is available?

On-site training will be provided by our engineers upon installation. We also have resources available such as help guides and remote support.
