How to calibrate your Klipspringer pH Pocket Testers, plus a step-by-step guide to taking accurate measurements.

Across the food and beverage production industry, teams are using pH meters to drive standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

To provide support in this area, we have developed a help guide for working with our own range of pH Pocket Testers.

Featuring your choice of video and written instructions, it will take you through the process of calibrating, then using these pocket-size devices.

Calibrating your pH Pocket Tester

It is important that you calibrate your pH Pocket Tester before each use. You will need to calibrate it against all relevant calibration points, for most sites this will be pH 4 and 7.

1. Your pH Pocket Tester is supplied with a cap containing Storage Solution to protect the probe and extend its lifespan. Remove this cap.

2. Press the on/off button to turn on your pH Pocket Tester.

3. Use the β€˜CAL’ button to switch the device to calibration mode.

4. Place the probe directly into the first Buffer Solution and hold steady, no stirring is needed. If a smiley face appears on the screen, this indicates the reading has stabilised.

5. Press the β€˜CAL’ button and wait for the reading to stabilise again.

6. Remove the probe from the Buffer Solution, rinse with distilled water, then gently pat dry.

7. Place the probe directly into the second Buffer Solution and repeat steps 4-6.Β

8. Press the β€˜MODE’ button to change the device to measurement mode.

Using your pH Pocket Tester

Before using your pH Pocket Tester, you will need to calibrate the device and change the setting to measurement mode. To do this, follow the calibration steps listed above.

1. Place the probe directly into your sample and hold steady, no stirring is needed.

2. The measurement is complete once the reading stabilises on the screen.

NOTE: To avoid damaging the components of your pH Pocket Tester, only allow the tip of the device to touch the sample.

3. Remove the probe from the sample, rinse with distilled water, then gently pat dry.

4. Replace the protective cap and return your pH Pocket Tester to its case for safe storage.
