At Klipspringer, we are extremely proud of our on-site, UKAS-accredited laboratory. After all, it allows us to offer industry-leading turnaround times for service, repair, and calibration – making life easier for our customers and helping them to prepare for upcoming audits.

But what exactly happens in a laboratory that handles technical equipment? With servicing, repair, and calibration often outsourced to other companies and countries, this isn’t always the easiest question to answer.

However, the benefit of having an in-house laboratory is that we can provide you with a “closer look” at the work we do, offering you a guided tour of the Klipspringer Laboratory and an introduction to our fantastic Technical Team. Read on to discover how we can support your site.

Equipment Calibrations

Klipspringer’s UKAS-accredited, in-house laboratory provides hassle-free service, repair and calibration within 2-3 working days. Our in-house team specialises in temperature, humidity, pH, and reference weight calibrations.

As part of our customer care package, it is also worth noting that equipment sent to us for calibration will receive a complimentary service, with this including a clean and battery check.

Temperature Calibrations

Klipspringer’s laboratory is accredited to the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for temperature calibration.

Our Technical Team can perform traceable temperature calibrations on the following instruments:

  • Digital Probe Thermometers
  • Infrared Thermometers
  • Dataloggers
  • Glass Thermometers
  • Verifiers and Test Caps
  • LazaPorts & MultiPorts (Dry Block Units)

Humidity Calibrations

The Klipspringer laboratory is also accredited against the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for humidity calibration.

Our Technical Team can perform traceable humidity calibrations on the following instruments:

  • Humidity Meters & Hygrothermometers
  • Humidity Dataloggers
  • SenseAnywhere Humidity Sensors
  • WatchmanOne Humidity Sensors

Reference Weight Calibrations

Klipspringer’s laboratory can calibrate class M1 reference weights up to 20kg. The certification provided is traceable to a national standard (CALTRAC), helping you to secure compliance against Clause 6.4.3 of the BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard.

If the weights you submit for calibration sit outside the accepted tolerance and it is possible to adjust them, our Technical Team will take care of this. If adjustment isn’t an option, new Reference Weights will be recommended and can be purchased directly from Klipspringer.

Instrument Service and Repair

Another way to extend the lifespan of your equipment is to line up a repair service should any serious damage occur. Again, this can be handled at the Klipspringer Laboratory.

Our in-house team of experts carry out complex repairs every day, so may be able to bring your instrumentation back to working order. They will also source any necessary replacement parts and can even provide loan equipment depending on your requirements.

Alternatively, if your equipment is broken beyond repair, our team will match you with a suitable replacement.

Although you have the option of arranging your calibrations, repairs, and services through our Online Portal, Klipspringer’s Customer Support Team is also on-hand if you have any specific requests or queries.

Say you need to secure loan equipment ahead of an upcoming audit or want to check on the progress of your calibrations, our in-house Customer Support Team will be able to provide the guidance you need, communicating directly with our Technical Department.

Our LiveChat and phone lines are open between 7am and 16:30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding UK public holidays). During this time we will be available to answer incoming phone calls, and we also aim to respond to electronic enquiries within two working hours.
